MASSIVE MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF TE REO MĀORI IN AUCKLAND ARTS FESTIVAL IN MARCH

Tōku Reo Waiata
Great Hall, Auckland Town Hall
Saturday 16 March, 2019

One of the best ways to learn a language is through waiata. For one special night only, in the Auckland Arts Festival in March, audiences are invited to join some of the finest singers in Aotearoa as they turn up the volume, open their kete and share the joy and aroha of music and te reo Māori.

The centrepiece event of Auckland Arts Festival (AAF), Tōku Reo Waiata will celebrate our Māori language with an unforgettable evening of stars, songs and sing-along.

Auckland Arts Festival has a long heritage in producing super-sized sing-alongs, harking as far back as Everything is Kāpai in 2013. With their newly-renewed focus on the celebration and normalisation of te reo Māori in the 2019 festival, Tōku Reo Waiata will take this legacy to new heights.

Directed by musician and Director of Tairāwhiti Arts Festival Tama Waipara, the astounding line-up of New Zealand musicians includes Annie Crummer, Hinewehi Mohi, Moana Maniapoto, Maisey Rika, Rob Ruha, Tami Neilson and Seth Haapu, with more to be announced later.

Don’t miss out on one of the biggest parties of the 2019 Te Ahurei Toi O Tāmakai Makarau
