A day with Clarke Gayford
We’ve been regulars at TVNZ Breakfast in recent weeks. The first visit was for the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC and Auckland Live concert Planet Earth II Live in Concert.
The show is being narrated by New Zealand’s “first man”, the partner of Prime Minister Jacinda Adern, Clarke Gayford. We did a day of press with him, starting with TVNZ Breakfast, moving on to Newstalk ZB, NZ Herald and Stuff’s Sunday Magazine - the latter two will be published soon.
The brilliance of Emily Writes
We jumped on the fact that the brilliant, hilarious writer Emily Writes was in town for Easter, to drag her in to TVNZ Breakfast to chat about her blog-turned-book-turned-play, Rants in the Dark, which opens at the Bruce Mason Centre on 16 May.
There’s some more coverage on Rants in the Dark - actor Bronwyn Turei spoke with Channel Magazine, Emily has also spoken with Radio NZ and Newstalk ZB, and there’s more to come in the coming weeks.
K-Pop and Satellites Asian Arts Festival
We love the Satellites Asian Arts Festival, and the brilliant artists it uplifts into the limelight.
One of these is Rina Chae (pictured below), K-Pop Queen and choreographer whose credits include dancing with Beyonce and Justin Bieber. We’re delighted Spy.co.nz was as excited as we are about her!

The Queen of The Audience
Auckland Theatre Company media activity has been keeping us immensely busy lately, with their annual Here and Now youth theatre festival opening tonight, The Audience in rehearsal and Astroman, ATC’s Auckland Arts Festival show, gaining immense media interest back in February and March.
There is too much coverage to mention, but some of the current content includes a feature interview with Theresa Healey in North and South magazine, and Theresa was also on Radio NZ last week.
New Zealand’s first fully inclusive kids musical, Madagascar - A Musical Adventure Junior

We’re immensely excited to be doing the publicity for New Zealand’s first fully-inclusive musical for kids with and without disabilities, Madagascar - A Musical Adventure Junior. It opens 16 May at the Rose Centre in Takapuna.
Coverage to date includes a Stuff piece and a story in the Devonport Flagstaff, but there’s a lot more to come in the coming weeks.
Media with Sir Michael Hill
The Michael Hill International Violin Competition is fast approaching. We’re thankful Sir Michael himself is such a good sport, as you’ll hear here on Radio NZ (along with a simple yet scrumptious fish recipe).
Former winner Bella Hristova and Competition Executive Director Anne Rodda were hot on his heels, appearing on Radio NZ a few weeks later. Our friends - and Competition media partner - The Violin Channel announced the 16 Quarter Finalists.
Just for fun, we asked Radio NZ if they’d be interested in recording Bella playing The Last Post on her 1655 Amati violin for Anzac Day. Check this out…
The Competition kicks off in Queenstown 31 May and then moves to Auckland for the semi-finals on Wed 5 June and Grand Finale on Sat 8 June. Grab your tickets for Auckland and Queenstown as soon as you can.
